Getting Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s pets to take a photo with her is like gathering a whole bunch of people. When her dog, Truffle, finally agrees to sit in her lap, her cat Simmba decides to leave! While she’s with us for a special photo shoot on National Pet Day, Shilpa remembers the first time Truffle became part of their family.
We gave Viaan a little poodle for his 10th birthday as a surprise. This pet is just like I imagined. She’s well-behaved and cares about staying fit, just like me. Every morning, she insists on having her almonds,” the actor from the Indian Police Force says. “She acts almost like a human, but people don’t love as completely as she does.
Kundra has loved having furry friends since he was very young. At first, his dad didn’t want a pet. But his sister, Shamita, loved animals so much that they would secretly bring in abandoned dogs, birds, and all sorts of little creatures. Once, they found three kittens in the attic, and their dad gave them an ultimatum: “Either the pet or me.” Without hesitation, Kundra, his mom, and Shamita chose the pet. They still laugh about it today. Just as they reminisce, Kundra’s daughter Samisha interrupts, telling their pet Truffle to behave or she won’t talk to him. We all laugh together at her adorable threat.
The actor thinks it’s hard not to love these cute little animals. She says even her dad, who wasn’t big on animals, cried a lot when they lost their first pet. He even held a special ceremony for it. She says pets always find a way to become important in your life.”
