Celebrated Indian actor Allu Arjun commemorated the 20th anniversary of his hit film “Arya” on Tuesday. The 2004 release was a significant moment in Arjun’s career, coming after his debut in Telugu cinema with “Gangotri” in 2003. Reflecting on this milestone, the 42-year-old star took to social media platform X and wrote, “Two decades since ‘Arya’. More than just a movie… It’s a pivotal moment that altered the course of my life. Grateful forever.” “Arya”, which saw Arjun portray the lead character, a carefree guy who falls for Geetha, marked the directorial debut of acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar. The duo subsequently collaborated on “Arya 2”, the sequel released in 2009 starring Kajal Aggarwal and Navdeep. They joined forces again for the box office smash hit “Pushpa: The Rise” in 2021, which earned over Rs 350 crore. The movie followed the journey of a manual laborer (played by Arjun) as he rises through the ranks of a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate in Andhra Pradesh’s Sesh.

Director Sukumar’s debut film Arya, which was released 20 years ago on May 7, brought success to everyone involved. Since then, he has gone on to make several successful films like 100% Love and Pushpa: The Rise. The lead actor of Arya, Allu Arjun, recently reflected on its impact by sharing throwback pics. One post was a new poster commemorating the 20th anniversary, while another featured old pictures with fellow actors like Anuradha Mehta and Siva Balaji. Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, will see the return of Allu, Rashmika, and Fahadh as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat respectively. Joining them will be familiar faces such as Jagapathi Babu, Brahmaji, and Anasuya Bharadwaj. This highly anticipated film serves as a sequel to 2021’s Pushpa: The Rise and is set for release on August 15th of this year.
